Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej Now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born on November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to score a of 10 in the Olympic event. Bela Karolyi later Romanian gymnastics coach, discovered Comaneci at just 6 years old. In 1969, she participated in the Romanian Junior Championships where she placed 13th. In 1970, she won the title. She took home three golds at her very first contest in a junior pre-Olympic meeting in 1972, which was a the communist countries of the bloc. In 1973 and 1974, she was the all-around junior champion. She took home four gold medals and one silver medals at her first international competition for seniors which took place in the year 1975. It was the first time she had competed as an adult. In 1976, she took home the American Cup at the New York City Olympics and was the first female ever to remove the parallel bars using double backwards salto. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her career began as an entertainment professional during her teens, when she was an ice skating duo along with their sibling Nina Wayne for the travelling entertainment program Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne, born in Chicago Illinois US on 6 September 1942. Carol started her career as an entertainer as a teenager. Early on she was a figure skater on the show Ice Capades with her sister Nina Wayne. The shows featured ice skating shows that were performed accompanied by musical theatre.
